Blekinge museum was founded in 1899 and is a county museum, which means that we have operations in the entire county. It is about everything from pedagogy in school to archaeology, cultural environment conservation, object collection, archives and events. Organizationally, the museum is today a foundation with three founders; Blekinge Hembygdsförbund, the county council in Blekinge and Karlskrona municipality. The organization has around 30 employees with special skills in many areas.
